Bouncing Back

Many people who are living with a mental health problem also suffer from Social Anxiety. Social anxiety is the fear of social situations that involve interaction with other people. You could say social anxiety is the fear and anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people. It is a pervasive disorder and causes anxiety and fear in almost all areas of a person’s life. Bouncing Back is a project funded by Awards for All that we run to help service users overcome social anxiety. We do this by slowly introducing service users to our Past Times project which is a social event that around 80 people a week attend. Service users are able to access our Past Times project knowing that they can leave at any time and have the support of our staff who they trust and feel safe with.
